Phyllis Birkby was the project designer for the Davis Brody Bond Library‑Learning Center at Long Island University’s Brooklyn campus. Her design unified stacks, lecture halls, computer and audiovisual centers, and lounges into a cohesive whole she described as “more as fabric than a building.” The project also incorporated features to improve circulation and accessibility, reflecting Birkby’s commitment to inclusive, user-centered architecture.
